Highlights

For the past 25 years, the Trust has managed this precious urban wild place in North Vancouver. We acknowledge that these unceded lands and waters have been stewarded by the Tsleil-Waututh and Coast Salish Peoples since the last Ice Age, some 13,000 years ago. Incredibly, there have been 251 species of birds sighted and/or heard at The Conservation Area at Maplewood Flats.

The twelve chosen images represent the immense beauty of the birds that can be found during these specific months. In some cases, a month has a bird that is honoured internationally by a specific day.

A selection of our educational events is listed in the calendar. For a complete listing of 80+ events offered each year, please read our semi-annual Wingspan Magazine, visit our website, www.wildbirdtrust.org, or social media channels. We program walks, talks, exhibitions, workshops, a Festival, and our member committees meet regularly (Habitat, Programs, Fundraising & Finance, Communications, Policy, and Volunteers).

2019 Photographers

Twelve different Wild Bird Trust of BC member photographers are represented in this calendar, one for each month. A diverse group of photographers were selected to reflect the range in ages and cultural backgrounds of our membership who all contribute to our valuable protection and education work.
