Farewell to Spring (Clarkia amoena) – Seeds

$5.00

Clarkia amoena

Farewell-to-Spring Clarkia is a native of the Pacific coast from BC southward to the San Francisco Bay area. The flowers are cup-shaped and variably marked in crimson to pink. Clarkia is an extremely easy annual flower to grow, and will perform just as well in patio containers as in the flower border, or as annual ground cover. It grows 15-30cm (6-12″) tall. It self sows easily, but does not become weedy. Flowers from summer to early fall.

Sowing

Sow after last frost and continue sowing more seeds at two week intervals for a longer blooming period. Sow on the surface of the soil, as they require light to germinate. Clarkia is so susceptible to damping off that sowing indoors is not practical.
