Exposure: Part shade – Shade
Moisture: Moist – Dry
Max height: 1 ft

Bloom and Fruits: Heart-shaped pink flowers bloom in May-June.
Features: Beautiful, blue-tinged foliage is delicate and fern-like. It dies back in late summer heat so is best planted with other plants that provide later season interest.
Wildlife value: Flowers provide spring forage for pollinators. The seed pods have elaiosomes – small yellowish bulbs at their tip. These provide a food reward for ants, which will drag them to their nests, dispersing the seeds.
