Welcome to the Wild Bird Trust of BC

We are a non-profit society that manages the Conservation Area at Maplewood Flats in North Vancouver. This land is situated within the traditional and unceded territory of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation. We provide wild birds with sanctuary through ecological protection and restoration, and support communities with education, culture, and reconciliation programs.

Birding at Maplewood Flats

From monthly bird surveys, guided nature walks, to wild bird habitat conservation workshops, The Conservation Area at Maplewood Flats provides many opportunities for beginner and experienced birders alike to deepen our lifelong love for wild birds.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our on-site group events are limited or currently postponed. However, The Conservation Area at Maplewood Flats is open to the public for self-guided tours and birding activities. We request all our visitors to observe appropriate Covid-19 protocols. Visit the Greeter Hut for more information.

Events at Maplewood Flats

Due to Covid-19, we have moved our events and workshops online where applicable, while some activities are postponed until further notice. Please check our upcoming events for more information or get your tickets to save your spot.
